The most visited of the Visayan islands, Cebu is also the shipping hub of the Philippines.  The number of shipping companies and agents in Cebu City and the number of ships at the dock is quite incredible.  This is also the place where Magellan marked the beginning of Christianity in the Philippines with the erection of a cross and where he was killed in the battle of Mactan Island on 27 April.

       Cebu is now the heart of businesses and recreations in the Philippines. The province has become the hub of transportation between islands, the center of trade, the premier vacation spot for visitors from all over the world.
