Gaming
at the Casino
Waterfront Lahug, Cebu City, Philippines.
"Gaming"
sounds more acceptable, more sporty and
fun.
This is how gaming should be like -- they should not
call it gambling anymore.
The Casino not only offer the gaming tables, but also a place for
entertainment - the "Teatro Filipino", a party place where you can watch free
shows, concerts, play
bingo and even learn ballroom dancing. This is the place where different organizations
meet to discuss issues or concerns and perhaps entertain themselves thereafter.
The new Casino Filipino invites you to travel back in time as you
enter the main gaming area. It depicts a historic culture, the influential façade and
interior designs of the Western Culture. (show photo of balcony, partly the game room or
table).
If you have come to play, You can take a chance at 70 gaming tables
offering baccarat (also known as lucky 9), blackjack, roulette, pai-gaw and craps - or try
your luck at the well-known slot machines.
For high rollers, a discreet and quiet VIP rooms can be located on
the third floor. If you need assistance, the casino has concierge counter and a roving,
good-natured casino host. Be assured of fine service at the gaming table because all the
action on the floor are closely followed by game auditors through video monitors.
On the lighter side, one may even find a café/restaurant (photo
needed). If you run out of luck, your "donation" to the casino 's coffers will
find its way to the regular outreach programs (as planned) to poor communities, engaging
in health and sports activities.
The
Casino At The
Cebu Waterfront Hotel
The
casino of PAGCOR had heard rave reviews, the Casino-Filipino-Cebu at the
Waterfront Hotel. The concept for the main gaming area was to create the
ambience of a town plaza. And what better plaza to approximate than that
of picturesque Carcar, with its turn-of the-century structures?
(Thank heavens the plan to demolish them for the sake of
“development” – that is, road widening – has been shelved.
Forever one hopes.) The best houses along in Carcar’s plaza and nearby
areas have been recreated in this main gaming room at the e
But there are other rooms with
other themes. VIP rooms are named after Spanish galleons – the Santa
Maria, the Trinidad, the Concepcion and the Victoria. Junket operations
(for high rollers flown in from various parts of the country and/or the
globe) are at the fourth level of the casino.
Everything one would want in a
casino is there, including a shoeshine, a lounge beside bread and coffee
stands, bank facilities including ATM machines. And everything in the
casino is plush. And proudly made in Cebu, including the
paintings and murals hang in strategic locations.
Even it one does not gamble, it
might be worth one’s time to visit the place just to view the setting
of “the action”. Or perhaps to enjoy oneself at the Teatro Casino
where there’s ballroom dancing Friday nights. It is also a place with
many things. It can be a bingo room, a ballroom, a place for shows
(fashion shows, musical concerts, plays), even for seminars or small
conventions! It’s a versatile room sanctorum of the Casino.
Come and enjoy the sights and
sounds of the casino. And if you must play, may the gods of good fortune
be with you!
