Always considered the life of the party, he sees the lighter side in every situation, trait that sometimes influences his art. His jovial nature does not hinder himself the sensitivity of certain scenes. On the contrary, it enables him to portray a positive romantic theme in his artworks. In his most recent painting he adapts an elongated vision, as if the images were stretched within a dream.

Jorge Lao

Generous with his paint consistency, Jorge Lao packs a heavy punch in most of his oil paintings. He applies his oil as thick and rich as needed so as to best reveal the temper of his artwork. Bold, swift and daring in his strokes in one painting yet soft, meticulous and subtle in another, the artist is free to explore the possibilities of art irregardless of cost to the freedom of expression. He is reelected as president of Kolor Sugbu.

Fe Mantua Madrid

The only rose among the thorns, Fe Madrid challenges the dominance of men in the Cebuano art scene. And yet she isn't seeking to challenge them; instead she seeks to be beside her husband (who happens to be an artist too) in the quest to elevate Cebuano Art. Of course, her feminity comes out in her paintings with subject mostly flowers and mother & child. She's starting to love the architectural intricasies of old churches. But her growth in art sees her expanding her horizons and exploring the world in paint and in canvas.

He believes that art should not rely on beauty alone but carry a message as well.

Jose "Kimsoy" Yap, Jr.

Having studied at the national Academy of design School of Fine Arts in New York, Kimsoy Yap's painting style depicts a trace of the Western influence. Yet althoough this maybe so, an intrinsic Filipino character remains in his art pieces. What is most striking in most of his works is his conscious use of line and space; making the most of each minute stroke, for example, to bring about the best effect with the color, size and texture of the paper considered. The phrase "less is more" could be aptly applied to some of his works lending a deeper drama to each of the paintings.
