Aniano Aguilar Desierto

As Ombudsman of the Philippines, Atty. Aniano Desierto’s cabilities are not just confined within the premises of law-enforcing. Among his numerous achievements and positions as a law practitioner, such as serving three (3) presidents as government prosecutor and as ombudsman from 1995 till the present, he has also gained experiences in the managerial profession. Unknown to many, the Ombudsman was once the Provincial Division Manager of the Manila Broadcasting Company and of the Metropolitan Broadcasting Company ….. just one of the many positions he held in the business field.

A native of Cebu City, he took up his pre-law degree at the University of San Carlos and later finished his law studies at the University of the Philippines. Aside from these, he also took up General Management and Marketing Courses at the Ateneo de Manila University and his master’s degree at the Philippine Christian University.

Aniano Aguilar Desierto was born on April 25, 1935 in Cebu City. He is married to Commissioner Teresita A. Desierto.
