Christopher
Tan
Cebu Gems
A
man who hates being alone without the people he loves, Christopher
"chris" Tan of Cebu Gems is a man whose guiding principle in
life is "to be honest with yourself". For him, no matter how
rich or poor you are, no one is allowed to step into anybody’s life.
Chris, now at 24, stands
6’1" tall and weighs 193 lbs. was born on January 14, 1975 at
Makati City. His stepdad, Norman Black, who is a well-known coach, and
his mom, Mrs. Carmen Davila are proud of their son in playing at Cebu
Gems in a guard/forward position.
Chris was a loyal student
of La Salle Greenhills and La Salle University. Since high school, Chris
was already into the La Salle basketball varsity team. On the way to
college, he took up Business Management and fortunately he still made it
to the basketball varsity. Because of his extraordinary talents, Chris
was able to play at PBL. In 1994 to 1995, he joined Burger Machine. In
1996, he eventually got into Springmate and in 1997 in Wilkins. Now at
Cebu Gems, Chris has no qualms in giving all his best to the team.
As for now, Chris
considers basketball as his career. Although being in this business
makes them popular, for him nothing changes. The best thing that he can
contribute to the team is his leadership in which he associates it as
"sacred".
Simple as he is, Chris
faced a lot of sacrifices before reaching the top. No matter what
happens, no one can compare the energetic Chris Tan.
