Robert
Jason Wainright III
Cebu Gems
One
of the nicest players of Cebu Gems who doesn’t only like basketball
but baseball as well. Cebu Gems small forward and power forward Robert
Jason Wainright III is the Michael Jordan of MBA.
Born on Dec. 27, 1973 at
California, USA, "Opaw" as he is fondly call by his teammates
stands 6’5" tall and weighs 200 lb. The only child of Mr. Robert
Wainright II, a head construction worker in California and Mrs. Carmen
Wainright, a social worker, "Opaw" also loves music and
computer graphics.
He spent half of his life
in California before coming in the Philippines to play basketball. Rob
is proud to be a father of two daughters whom he considers as his
greatest gift in life. Rob believes that whatever he do, regarding how
small it is, he will do his best as long as it will do good for
everybody. By this, he considers it as his guiding principle in life.
Rob used to play a small Fil-Am League in the USA and here in the
Philippines, through this he was discovered by a sport-scout.
Rob performed 100% of an
endless array of mind-boggling, breath-taking feats on the hardcourt to
erase any doubt that he is the greatest basketball player of Cebu Gems.
A very fun-loving man,
Rob’s advice to teenagers who like to play basketball is never give
up, keep on trying and with God’s will you will be successful. With
his height, skill, determination and sensibility, he has the right to
dream of being able to play pro. "Opaw" or Rob’s smile
brings Cebu Gems to cloud nine because all his qualities are an epitome
of a true player. Truly, a person worth to be treasured.
