| Metro
Supermarket
Imagine this. You’re
trying your hand on Mexican dish for a change when you suddenly
realize that you’ve run out of that spicy imported sauce. Well,
there’s no need to look far when in need of imported options. At the
Metro Supermarket (Ayala, Colon, and Mandaue), you’ll be spoilt with
choices.
Everyday, when you checked
Metro-Ayala’s imported shelves, everyone is treated to over a
thousand varieties in grocery and health and beauty lines. That’s
something other supermarkets can’t offer.
While the Western goods
outnumber those Asian products, the Metro grocery- to the relief of
buyers partial to Oriental taste-has well stocked shelves for Chinese,
Japanese and Indochinese products.
Expectedly, foreigners and
balikbayans make up the greater market, but adventurous local buyers
experiment on a few imported goods too, like chocolates and coffee.
Fruit spreads, peanut butters, and fruit juices are also among its top
sellers.
But really now, aside from
its countless choices, prices here are also cheaper. That makes it one
good place for imported finds.
